Kate

Kate is recognised as an excellent communicator, trainer and coach. After a successful career in the water industry, specialising in customer relations, public relations and communications, Kate joined a highly respected consultancy as communications expert, working closely with clients in the transport, national health and energy retail sectors.

Kate established her own consultancy in 2006 and has provided interactive and participative training and coaching for a wide range of clients such as UK Power Networks, RWE npower, the Environment Agency, Southern Water, private consultancy companies, the Civil Service and local government. She works in a range of sectors including utilities, public sector, and not-for-profit as well as the private sector.

Kate’s first-hand experience of customer relations and customer service in the water industry enables her to draw on real life situations as learning points – whether good or bad. She strongly believes that every person we work with is a customer – whether internal or external – and that it is vital to interact positively with both. She also has experience of media relations, having worked with local, regional and national press and television. Her approach is centred on the people aspect of any situation and encourages training participants to put themselves in the other person’s place, especially when communicating with customers. Effective communication is the key to any interaction and the understanding of the impact we have on others when communicating is vital to the success or otherwise of that interaction. All too often our intentions are well meant but the impact we create has the opposite effect.

Over 25 years’ working experience, together with an open, sharing nature and a flexible approach, ensure that Kate has successful and lasting partnerships with her clients.

Kate is based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and delivers customer service training in East Anglia (Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk) and the Midlands (West Midlands, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Cheshire).
