People want to be happy when they make their purchase. Scott applies positive psychology techniques to his training and encourages participants to build on their core strengths and attributes.
An enthusiastic developer of people, Scott Rumsey has been working as a sales trainer and coach since 1996. He developed his sales expertise selling face-to-face in a retail banking environment at NatWest as the FOCUS Sales Manager, before moving onto an account management role. When NatWest first started opening call centres for customers, Scott was one of the first sales and service coaches to operate in this new environment, using his expert knowledge and skill to train and coach colleagues on the phone, encouraging customers to use more of the bank’s products. He then joined the national training team in NatWest, delivering training at the residential training college, working with sales teams within the business. Keen to broaden his training experience, Scott established his own independent training and management consultancy in 1999 working with organisations such as the Rexel Group (the world’s largest electrical wholesaler), Johnson & Wales University (Miami, USA) and the Carnival Cruise Group as well as a variety of small and medium businesses.
One of Scott’s specialist areas is telephone sales and particularly telephone sales coaching, which involves him in providing live coaching while sales people call their customers. As someone who is passionate about sales through a customer-centred approach, Scott brings real feeling to his training and coaching sessions. His qualifications include: NLP Master Practitioner, DISC Profiling Practitioner, Associate of the Chartered Institute of Banking (ACIB), National Vocational Qualification Internal Verifier and NVQ Assessor (CIPD).
